Stephen Biggs, CFP®, CFA, CAIA, Ms

Chief Investment Officer | Principal

Ask Steve Biggs if he can recall a time when he wasn’t interested in the stock market, and the answer will be no. Steve’s interest has been lifelong, with his first stock purchase made more than 30 years ago from the money he made delivering pizzas. Today, he applies his investment acumen and experience to building and managing investment portfolios so that our clients can more readily attain their goals.

Steve embraced his investment vocation while in college, working as an intern for a number of asset managers and equity research organizations. This was in the mid-1990s, and since then he has built a career that he is proud of, including service as an equity research analyst for the State of Montana Board of Investments and as analyst/co-manager for the Wells Fargo Growth Fund at Wells Capital Management (Wells Fargo). It was at the latter organization that he worked with a team that took a mutual fund that Morningstar had rated two stars to five stars within a few years.

At HC Financial Advisors, Steve appreciates the change from working at a pension fund or institutional investment firm. Here, he works much more closely with clients to build diversified portfolios that help meet their needs. He applies an institutional level of risk management that clients would not have otherwise had access to.

A member of the CFA Society of San Francisco, Steve has served on the organization’s advisory committee for Wealth Management Series, developing event content designed for wealth management professionals. A Clayton resident, he loves time with his wife, cycling, and competitive barbecue.
